PROJECT INFO

Sharp is proud to have contributed to the renovation and expansion of the historic Tobin Center for the Performing Arts, transforming the 1920s Municipal Auditorium into a world-class performance venue. Designed by Marmon Mok and LMN Architects, and constructed by Linbeck Group, the project retained the historic elements while integrating a state-of-the-art performance hall and a 250-seat studio theater, accommodating over 1,750 patrons. Hankins & Johann was the system supplier and the glass fabrication by Viracon. The exterior features a distinctive metallic veil that unifies the building’s design and includes innovative lighting to enhance its visual appeal. Sharp involvement included providing structural glass wall solutions as part of their comprehensive contribution to the project, utilizing 1/4" Clear VE1-2M (2); 1/2" AS; 1/4" Clear vision glass types. The venue is situated on the San Antonio Riverwalk, with a new plaza connecting to a 600-seat outdoor theater.
